Our First Week Back!

~Our fellow classmates about to start their day at Nicholas County~

Welcome back to NCHS! The first full week back in school may have been quite tiring for the students and staff, but this is the start to a very successful school year. This week we have all realized what our classes have to offer and how hard we need to strive to complete every task to the best of our ability. Let’s all work hard to complete everything this year. By setting outstanding goals for ourselves, we can make this year great!
This year the school has altered a bit of its surroundings by adding a new bus loop, improved student parking, and welcoming new teachers. The Bluejacket Buzz would like to welcome Mr. Dittgen to the Band and Instrumental Music, as well as Ms. Gully to the Math department.
Overall, we here at The Bluejacket Buzz would like to wish you all the best of luck in the current school year.

On their way to start a brand new day!

Cincinnati Reds

The Cincinnati Reds are having an amazing season. After 125 games, the Reds are 74-49. The Reds have the second best record in all of baseball, behind the Washington Nationals. The ace of the pitching staff, Johnny Cueto is 16-6. He has led the team all season with his ability to throw strikes and give the team a chance to win. Aroldis Chapman has also been a huge part in the Reds' success. Starting out the year as a Set-Up guy, he was moved to the closers role after Marshall struggled closing out games. Chapman went two months without allowing an earned run. he has 29 saves since being named closer. his ERA is 1.35.

The Reds have also had a great overall bullpen. They are ranked among the top of every category in the majors. The Reds aquired RHP Johnathon Broxton on the trade deadline and is now the set-up man. He has done a great job since coming over from thr Royals.

Offensively, the Reds do not struggle. They have one of the top offenses in the National League. Led by the former MVP Joey Votto. Votto has been out since July 18th with a torn ligament in his knee. He is expected to return in the next week or two. Jay Bruce has had a great season also. he leads the team in HR's and RBI's. Todd Frazier has stepped up, as well as Phillips and Ludwick since Votto has went out with the injury.

The Reds enter tonights games 6 and 1/2 games in front of the Pirates. Homer Bailey will go to the mound for the Reds against the former Cy Young winning Cliff Lee in Philladelphia at 7:05.

" The Bourne Legacy" Review

             The Bourne Legacy

" The Bourne Identity" (2002), " The Bourne Supremacy" (2004), "The Bourne Ultimatum" (2007), "The Bourne Legacy" (2012)

The Bourne Legacy is the fourth movie in the action-packed Bourne series. The movie came out in theaters on August 10, 2012. According to the box office report, The Bourne Legacy brought in about $38.1 million dollars. This was only within the movie's first week of being released. The movie is rated PG-13. It contains violence and intense action sequences. The run time for the movie is 2 hours and 15 minutes.

Tony Gilroy is the director for this movie. Gilroy has also directed Micheal Clayton and The Devil's Advocate. Edward Norton, Jeremy Renner and Rachel Weisz are all starring actors/actresses in this film. Matt Damon starred in the first 3 movies of the series. Many people are disappointed that he did not star in this film.

Critic Reviews

New York Post- " Disappointingly, Bourne never resurfaces in this less-than-satisfying reboot. The film is more a talky, convoluted, action-starved two-hour subplot."
Citizen Charlie- " Jason Bourne is more of the more intriguing film characters of the past decade."
Portland Oregonian- " The result is a newly revived spy movie franchise--- and the best big-budget action film of the summer."

March + Vacations = Win!

In a world of infinite imagination I am required to question something, WHY IN THE WORLD DO WE NOT GET A VACATION IN THE MONTH OF MARCH!?!?! Yes I’m yelling! Why am I yelling? Here’s why: high school students get …agitated when they have to come to school every day. We get to the point where we can’t really …cope with our constant work. Everyone NEEDS a day off, we all need to have a time where we don’t have to see people around us (the ones that we don’t like). There comes a point when we ALL have to just get AWAY!!

IF you sit in a class where people are being stupid and you don’t really have a way to get away from them, then you’re going to get tired of them, It’s REALLY easy to do so. What happens when you get tired of someone is that you tend to snap at them faster, or maybe at a time when you don’t even think you would snap at that person. You get to the point where things that you don’t notice, BUG YOU. Then the things that BUG you send you over the edge and into a complete fit, you go nuts and rip the head off of innocent bystanders.

Now, some people would say, “well if we had a day off in March then we’re going to have to go longer,” well if we get rid of banked days (which we’re not allowed to use anyway for some strange reason) and then we can add in a day or two that we don’t have to go to school in the month of March then we won’t have to add a day at the end of the year.

Others would say, “but we have so much to prepare for,” and to that I say SUCK IT UP! One day isn’t going to kill anybody! How many times have you NOT done something in a class? Just sat around and played cards, because there wasn’t anything to do in the first place?

However YOU WILL GAIN SOMETHING!!! The school will get a day to just relax! People will only see their friends (and the people they want to see), teachers will get to NOT see their students, and will get time away from their burning hot classrooms! EVERYONE wins, students get to release their frustration, as well as teachers, and everyone gets to experience the BEAUTIFUL weather outside as well.
It’s a WIN/WIN situation. So why not skip JUST ON DAY in the month of March?

He said, She said, Chris said

Jordan Bussell

One way that I would cope is to not pay attention to what they say and when the team that you love the most wins, you can rub it in their face.

Tawna Perry

One way that I would cope with a rival team is to not give them what they want, which
is to get mad and to get back at them with a rude comment and get all worked up and frustrated. At the end of the whole thing, we all are just the same people and we need to cope with our rivals, even though the cowboys suck! J

Chris Morgan

Me, I would look at them and I would ask the person what is the point of talking all kinds of crap? Then, when my team always beats my rival team, I don’t say a word and I just look and smile and keep doing it, but, like my buddy, Tawna said, let bygones be bygones, it’s just a game even though the Chargers suck, and also the Bengals (especially the Bengals).
