The Cincinnati Reds are having an amazing season. After 125 games, the Reds are 74-49. The Reds have the second best record in all of baseball, behind the Washington Nationals. The ace of the pitching staff, Johnny Cueto is 16-6. He has led the team all season with his ability to throw strikes and give the team a chance to win. Aroldis Chapman has also been a huge part in the Reds' success. Starting out the year as a Set-Up guy, he was moved to the closers role after Marshall struggled closing out games. The Reds have also had a great overall bullpen. They are ranked among the top of every category in the majors. The Reds aquired RHP Johnathon Broxton on the trade deadline and is now the set-up man. He has done a great job since coming over from thr Royals.
Offensively, the Reds do not struggle. They have one of the top offenses in the National League. Led by the former MVP Joey Votto. Votto has been out since July 18th with a torn ligament in his knee. He is expected to return in the next week or two. Jay Bruce has had a great season also. he leads the team in HR's and RBI's. Todd Frazier has stepped up, as well as Phillips and Ludwick since Votto has went out with the injury.
