Book Review: I am the Messenger by Markus Zusak

Markus Zusak narrates the story of Ed Kennedy in the thrilling and mysterious novel, I am the Messenger. 

Ed Kennedy is a loser drunk who lives in a shack with his smelly dog, The Doorman. After stopping a bank robbery, Ed receives a series of playing cards with tasks that he is expected to fulfill to help others in his community. Ed is completely devoted to his courier work, and for a short while, he is happy with his life. He becomes a messenger of kindness and help for an unknown cause. But who is sending these cards? Why have they picked Ed as their messenger?
