Art Show at Morehead

We put up pictures from an art show at Morehead State University, so I thought that we’d take today to explain what was special about that art show. The art show that Ms. Johnson’s students go to every year at Morehead is a Regional art show, so that means that if you win at Morehead you go to the state level competition in Northern Kentucky.
Why does this matter?
It matters because this is it, for many of the people who went to this competition this is really their last chance to win something big. Because of the nature of the competition, the schools are only allowed to bring 20 pieces to the competition. Ms. Johnson only takes the best of the best to the art show, pieces that she thinks are the crème de la crème that her art students produce. Because of this, many of the competitors are seniors, making this literally the LAST time that they can compete in a High School competition.
What’s next?
What’s next for the students who won? They get to compete in the statewide competition held in Northern Kentucky. Congrats to all those winners!
